October 2013 Update: For more information about hunting season and regulations, check the website for the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries at www.HuntFishVA.com. You can also pick up at the local DMV the Hunting & Trapping In Virginia brochure and the Virginia Migratory Waterfowl Seasons and Bag Limits brochure.
Tazewell County also provides local recreational opportunities at Cavets Creek Park and Lake Whitten, including a shooting range.
I also recommend MEFCOR Outdoors between Tazewell and Bluefield on I-460 for hunting and fishing supplies. The owner provides excellent customer service. He is planning an event this spring that will allow customers the chance to try out, in lake conditions, the kayaks and fishing platforms he sells.
